You probably already know that Speaker McCarthy has given Tucker Carlson access to a reported 42 thousand hours of never-before-seen footage from January 6th. This is the footage that the left-wing led J6 committee would not release. Many on the right believe that the “truth” about what really happened can be found in that footage. In other words, the “setup” will be revealed, and that’s why the left and RINOs don’t want it released. That’s the theory, soon we’ll know the truth…
Tucker actually has his hands on the footage now. And we hear he’s had it since the beginning of February… so he and his team are combing through it.
Axios reported that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox News’ Tucker Carlson exclusive access to 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage from the Jan. 6 riot, McCarthy sources tell me.
Carlson TV producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds. Excerpts will begin airing in the coming weeks.
Why it matters: Carlson has repeatedly questioned official accounts of 1/6, downplaying the insurrection as “vandalism.”
Now his shows — “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Fox News, and “Tucker Carlson Today” and “Tucker Carlson Originals” on the streaming service Fox Nation — have a massive trove of raw material.
Carlson told me: “[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret.”
“If there was ever a question that’s in the public’s interest to know, it’s what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it. It’s impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that.”

Between the lines: The process with Carlson started in early February, according to a communication between the show and a McCarthy representative that I was shown.
The archive was previously reported to be 14,000 hours. I’m told it’s now much more.
It is much more, Axios. It’s 42 thousand hours according to reports.
Now, if you’re like me, you don’t trust Fox News. You probably don’t believe a network that’s run by people like Paul Ryan and others who think and believe like he does will allow anything to come out and “vindicate” Trump, no matter how well-meaning Tucker is.
That’s a big concern right now, and has a lot of people worried – like it will be yet another 2020 sham election moment where we’re told “there’s no evidence, case closed, you were wrong…”
But hold on, becasuse there’s more….
It looks like for now, we can set those fears aside, because Marjorie Taylor Greene announced that not only is McCarthy giving the footage to Tucker, but he’s also giving it to the J6 defendants and their legal teams.
