The Pentagon hasn’t released any information about the attack, such as the target’s identity, whether the target escaped, or why they believed Misto was linked to al-Qaeda. Central Command’s spokesperson, Michael Lawhorn, says, “These allegations are being taken seriously by Centcom, and we are investigating to determine if the attack accidentally resulted in civilian harm.”
