Well, the predictions were right. Lori Lightfoot lost her bid to remain the mayor the Windy City… But she didn’t just lose, she got absolutely crushed in a humiliating defeat, and like a typical liberal, Lori can’t take responsibility for her mistakes, so she makes up absurd reasons for her defeat, and further insults the intelligence of her constituents. When asked why she lost, Lori didn’t mention the soaring crime in her city, instead, she said she lost because she’s a black woman in America.
Huh?
If that was the case, how was she ever elected in the first place? Was she not “black” and a “woman” when she won a few years ago?
These people are a joke.
Daily Mail reported that Lori Lightfoot claimed she was treated unfairly during her failed re-election bid for mayor because she is a woman of color, not for her failure to curb Chicago’s soaring crime rate.
Lightfoot, the first black woman and openly gay mayor of the Windy City, is now also the first Chicago mayor in 40 years to lose a re-election after trailing behind in third place with only 17.1 percent of votes as of Wednesday morning.
Throughout her term, she has been criticized for her soft-on-crime approach, which has led to massive increases in violence in the city, which is up 52 percent from last year and more than 100 percent from 2021.
But despite the record high crime on the streets of Chicago, the ousted mayor said in her concession speech that she was ‘grateful that we worked together to remove a record number of guns off our streets, reduce homicides and started making real progress on public safety.’
Lightfoot has previously attributed the fierce backlash against her to sexism and racism, with the exiting mayor now suggesting the same goes for her defeat.
Following her concession speech, a reporter asked her if she was treated unfairly because of her race and gender, with Lightfoot answering: ‘I’m a black woman in America. Of course.’
Meanwhile, Republicans slammed the ousted mayor, saying the primary reason she lost was because of crime, with US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeting: ‘Lori Lightfoot. Crime doesn’t pay.’
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Lori was so bad at her job, that she made Rahm Emanuel look accomplished, which I thought was impossible to do. He was another failed liberal run out of town.
We’ll see who Chicago elects next, but if it’s another radical progressive, they’re in big trouble, and they’ll get what they deserve.
