The Department of Defense (DOD(DOD) )’s failure to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse is under investigation by the Committee on Oversight and Accountability. In November 2022, DOD failed its fifth straight audit because it was unable to account for 61% of its $3.5 trillion worth of assets.
