Netflix Watcher Leads to Missing Child’s Discovery and Mother’s Arrest in North Carolina Mystery

One of the cases on family abductions featured on the Netflix original series, Unsolved Mysteries, was that of 9-year-old Kayla Unbehaun, who went missing from South Elgin, Illinois after seeing her non-custodial mother. Almost six years later, at the age of 15, Kayla was found in North Carolina after a viewer of the show spotted her mother Heather Unbehaun in an Asheville consignment store.
